WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Weight gain in a person is almost always an unconscious need for security or a need for protection. Until this unconscious need is resolved, no weight loss method will keep the weight off permanently.

The sub-conscious mind is millions of times more powerful than the conscious mind and so overriding the sub-conscious mind with the conscious mind (or pills or diets) is short term and leads to the dreaded "yo-yo dieting effect". As soon as the conscious mind is distracted, or as soon as the pills run out, or as soon as the unconscious need returns, so does the weight.

The first goal is to permanently resolve the unconscious issue, which is easy work for a skilled Hypnotherapist and frequently only takes a few sessions. Once the insecurities have been dealt with in hypnosis, a hypnotic weight management program is the second phase.

I have two approaches when dealing with issues of weight reduction. It is up to you to decide which one you think will be most effective for you.

OPTION 1 – If you want to reduce just a few kilo’s

I suggest a three-session approach to help you shed those last few kilo’s quickly and effortlessly. The session plan will look as follows:
Session 1 – Intake Interview; Learn Hypnosis
Session 2 – Finding the Root Cause or Resolving Inner Conflict
Session 3 – Hypnotic Gastric Band Surgery. During this session you will undergo a Hypnotic “operation” to make your stomach smaller, without actually going under the knife. Your subconscious will believe that the actual operation has taken place, even though it has all happened in the imagination. You will therefore eat much less, while feeling completely full. It might be necessary to adjust the band in a future session to get the best results.

It may be necessary to book extra sessions, depending on the progress that you are making.

Cost for Option 1 is R 1500. Thereafter it is R 500 per session.

OPTION 2 – If you want to reduce by more than 10 kg and permanently change your relationship with food

I suggest an eight-session approach. This program is based on Dr. Judith Pearson’s excellent weight reduction programme called The Weight, Hypnotherapy and You (WHY).

The WHY Program was designed for people just like you who sincerely want to reduce their weight and are willing to make lasting lifestyle changes to reach and maintain their preferred weight.

The eight sessions of the WHY Program were developed based on interviews and therapy sessions with numerous clients who struggled with weight reduction, interviewing people who had successfully reached their goal weight and consulting with nurses, nutritionists, motivational coaches, social workers, counselors, and psychologists. Ideas for the program also came from NLP books.

The programme comes with a complete workbook in which the assignments are intended to complement the work you do with your practitioner. Each assignment focuses on a specific cognitive skill, a mindset if you will, related to successful weight control. Each assignment will contribute to your success.

WHY Program Overview
In session 1, “Intake Interview and Introduction to the WHY Program,” you’ll have an interview and get an overview of the WHY Program. The accompanying assignment, “Get the Results You Want: Well- Formed Outcomes for Weight Control,” teaches you how to create well-formed outcomes that are specific and motivating.

In session 2, “Reframing Compulsive Eating,” you’ll complete a process to examine some of your unconscious motives behind overeating, and the assignment helps you examine the difference between “Trim-Slim Thinking versus Fat Thinking.”

In session 3, “Training in Self-Hypnosis,” you’ll learn self-hypnosis, and the assignment is a series of worksheets, or templates, that help you design your own self-hypnosis sessions in “Learning Self-Hypnosis: The Seven-Step Self- Hypnosis Process.”

Session 4, “Stopping Emotional Eating with Stress Management,” teaches you stress management tools to curb the eating for comfort that sometimes accompanies stress. The assignment, “Stress Management and Emotional Eating,” discusses ways to stress-proof your life, manage stress in healthy ways, and reverse the addiction to emotional eating. The accompanying bonus report, “Boost Your Brain to Curb Compulsive Eating!” gives you brain-health recommendations that may help you improve your eating patterns.

After Session 4 you have to reduce your weight by at least two kilograms in order to get the next session, and so on for the next four sessions.

Session 5, “Making Sensible Food Choices,” is a hypnotherapy session focusing on choosing healthful, nutritious, slenderizing foods. The hypnotherapy portion is audio recorded for you to use on your own at home. The assignment calls for you to designate healthful and not-so-healthful foods and complete “A Two-Week Food Diary,” so that you become more aware of your eating patterns.

Session 6, “Creating an Intelligent Relationship with Food,” is another recorded hypnotherapy session encouraging you to eat when you are hungry and stop eating when you are full. The assignment teaches you a step-by-step process called “The NLP Slender Eating Strategy.”

Session 7, “Boosting Motivation to Exercise,” is a recorded hypnotherapy session that revs up your motivation to exercise. The accompanying bonus report, “The Benefits of Exercise,” tells you how exercise can help you and how to get started on a safe, healthy exercise program. The “Mind Management” assignment will help you prepare for session 8.

Session 8, “Pulling It All Together for Lasting Results,” is a recorded hypnotherapy session that encourages you to take your mindset into the future so that the changes you’ve made are lasting. The assignment is called “Keep Going: Make Changes Last, Make Motivation Last.”

After session 8, you may want to return for additional follow-up sessions with your Hypnotherapist, to work through any other issues that may be interfering with the success you seek. You might want to talk about relationships, limiting beliefs, self-esteem, work-related problems, time management, relationships, or perhaps family-related concerns—anything that will help you reduce stress, love yourself, and maintain your progress.

Part of your agreement to participate in the WHY Program is that you select a nutrition plan approved or recommended by a physician, nurse, or nutritionist. While you are in the WHY Program, be sure to stick with your nutrition plan diligently, weigh yourself regularly to keep track of your progress, follow any guidelines established by your physician, get adequate rest, and choose an exercise plan to implement by session 7. If you encounter any problems or difficulties, discuss them with me so that I can modify the program, where appropriate, to meet your needs.

The task you have undertaken is not easy. It is time-consuming and life-changing, and you are worth it. You have what it takes. Believe in yourself and see the results!

The total cost for the programme, which includes the workbook and four use-at-home CD’s is only R 4000. An investment in yourself and your health!

 

GEWIGBEHEER

‘n Persoon se gewigvermeerdering is amper altyd as gevolg van ‘n onbewustelike behoefte aan sekuriteit of behoefte aan beskerming. Totdat die onbewustelike behoefte nie opgelos is nie, sal geen metode jou permanent gewig laat verminder nie.

Die onderbewussyn is miljoene kere meer kragtig as die bewussyn, en om dus die onderbewussyn met die bewussyn te probeer beheer (of met pille of dieëte) sal net ‘n kort rukkie duur en lei na ‘yo-yo' dieëte. Die oomblik as die bewussyn se aandag afgetrek word, of as die pille klaar is, of so gou as die onbewuste behoefte terugkeer, sal die gewig ook terugkeer.

Die eerste doel is om permanent met die onbewustelike aangeleentheid af te reken, wat maklik is vir ‘n ervare Hipnoterapeut en dit neem dikwels net ‘n paar sessies om te doen. Sodra die onsekerhede tydens Hipnose uitgeklaar is, is die hipnotiese gewigbeheerprogram die tweede fase van die terapie.

Ek het twee maniere waarop ek gewigvermindering benader. Dis hang van jou af watter metode die beste resultate gaan lewer.

OPSIE 1 – Wanneer jy met net ‘n paar kilo’s wil verminder

Ek stel 'n drie-sessie benadering voor om jou te help om daardie laaste paar kilo’s maklik en sonder inspanning af te skud. Die program lyk soos volg:
Sessie 1 – Inname onderhoud; Leer Hipnose
Sessie 2 – Vind die Oorsaak van die Probleem of Los Innerlike Konflik op
Sessie 3 – Hipnotiese Gastriese Band Sjirurgie.
Tydens Hierdie sessie ondergaan jy ‘n hipnotese "operasie" om jou maag kleiner te maak, sonder om “onder die mes” te gaan. Jou onderbewussyn sal glo dat die operasie regtig plaasgevind het, al het dit net in jou verbeelding gebeur. Jy sal dus minder eet en steeds heeltemal versadig voel. Dit mag dalk nodig wees om die band tydens ‘n verdere sessie te verstel.

Dit mag nodig wees om dalk ekstra sessie te bespreek, afhangend van hoe gou vordering gemaak word.

Die koste vir Opsie 1 is R 1500 en verdere sessies sal teen R 500 elk aangebied word.

OPSIE 2  - Indien jy jou gewig met meer as 10 kg wil verminder en permanente verandering maak aan jou verhouding met kos.

Ek stel ‘n agt-sessie program voor. Hierdie program is gebaseer op Dr. Judith Pearson se uitstekende gewigsverminderingsprogram genaamd Die Gewig, Hipnoterapie en JY (GHJ).

Die GHJ Program is ontwerp vir mense net soos jy wat opreg is in hulle wens om hul gewig te verminder en gewillig is om blywende leefstylveranderinge te maak om hul doelwitgewig te bereik en behou.
Dr. Pearson het die program ontwerp gebaseer op onderhoude en terapie-sessies met verskeie kliënte wat gesukkel het met gewigsvermindering, onderhoude met persone wat suksesvol hulle doel bereik het, asook onderhoude met verpleegsters, dieëtkundiges, motiveringsprekers, sosiale werkers, beraders, en sielkundiges.
As deel van die program kry jy ook ‘n werkboek met werksopdragte wat bedoel is om die werk wat ek met jou doen te komplimenteer. Elke werksopdrag fokus op ‘n spesifieke kernvermoë, ‘n denkpatroon, verwant aan suksesvolle gewigsvermindering. Elke werksopdrag sal bydra tot jou sukses.
Program Oorsig
In sessie 1, “Inname Onderhoud en Bekendstelling tot die GHY Program”, sal ek ‘n onderhoud met jou voer en ‘n oorsig gee oor hoe die program werk. Die gepaardgaande werksopdrag, “Kry die resultate wat jy wil hê: Goed-gevormde resultate vir gewigbeheer”, sal jou leer hoe om goed-gevormde resultate te skep wat spesifiek is en jou sal motiveer.
In sessie 2, “Kompulsiewe Eet in ‘n Nuwe Lig”, sal jy die proses voltooi deur sekere van jou onbewustelike motiewe, wat verantwoordelik is vir jou ooreet, te ondersoek. Die werksopdrag sal jou help om te onderskei tussen “Slank-Dun Denke versus Vet Denke.”
In sessie 3, “Opleiding in self‐hipnose”, sal jy self‐hipnose leer, en die werksopdrag is ‘n reeks werkstate wat jou sal help om jou eie self‐hipnose sessie te ontwerp tydens “Leer Self‐Hipnose: Die Sewe Stappe in die Self-Hipnose Proses.”
Tydens sessie 4, “Hou op om Emosioneel te Eet met Stresbeheer”, sal jy leer hoe om stres te beheer om te keer dat jy eet vir gemak, wat somtyds met stres gepaard gaan. Die werksopdrag, “Stresbeheer en Emosionele eet”, bespreek maniere hoe om jou lewe stresbestand te maak, om jou stres op gesonde maniere te beheer, en om die verslawing aan emosionele eet hok te slaan. Die bypaardgaande bonus verslag, “Versterk jou Brein om Kompulsiewe Eet Hok te Slaan”, verskaf aanbevelings wat jou brein gesond sal hou, wat mag help om jou eetpatrone te verbeter.
Na die vierde sessie moet jy jou gewig met ten minste twee kilogram verminder om die volgende sessie te kan kry. Dit geld dan vir elke daaropvolgende sessie.
Sessie 5, “Maak Verstandige Koskeuses”, is die hipnoterapie sessie wat fokus op gesonde, voedsame, verslankende kossoorte. Hierdie hipnoterapie sessie word op CD opgeneem en jy kan dit by die huis gebruik. Die werksopdrag verwag dat jy tussen gesonde en nie‐so‐gesonde kossoorte onderskei en dat jy ‘n “Twee Weke Kosdagboek” hou sodat jy meer bewus kan word van jou eetpatrone.
Sessie 6, “Die Skep van ‘n Intelligente Verhouding met Kos”, is nog ‘n hipnoterapie sessie wat op CD opgeneem gaan word en dit sal jou aanmoedig om te eet wanneer jy honger is en op te hou eet wanneer jy versadig is. Die werksopdrag leer jou die stap-vir-stap proses genaamd “Die NLP Slanke Eet Strategie.”
Sessie 7, “Versterk Motivering vir Oefening”, is ‘n hipnoterapie sessie wat op CD opgeneem sal word, wat jou motivering om te oefen sal aanwakker. Die bypaardgaande bonusverslag, “Die Voordele van Oefening”, lig jou in oor hoe oefening jou kan help en hoe om ‘n veilige, gesonde oefenprogram te begin. Die “Gedagtebestuur” werksopdrag sal jou help voorberei vir sessie 8.
Sessie 8, “Bring Alles Bymekaar vir Volgehoue Resultate”, word ook op CD opgeneem en moedig jou aan om jou gedagtegang op die toekoms gefokus te hou, sodat die veranderinge wat jy maak blywend is. Die werksopdrag is “Hou aan: Laat Verandering Aanhou, Laat Motivering aanhou.”
Na sessie 8, mag jy dalk verkies om terug te keer vir addisionele opvolgsessies, om te werk aan enige ander sake wat dalk in die pad staan van die sukses waarna jy streef. Jy mag dalk wil praat oor swak selfbeeld, werksverwante probleme, bestuur van tyd, verhoudings of enige familie probleme – enigiets wat jou sal help om stres te verminder, jouself lief te hê en jou vooruitgang te behou.
Deel van jou kontrak om aan die GHJ Program deel te neem, is dat jy ‘n dieëtplan goedgekeur of voorgestel gaan kry deur ‘n dokter, verpleegster, of ‘n dieëtkundige. Terwyl jy op die GHJ Program is, maak seker jy volg jou dieëtplan noukeurig, weeg jouself gereeld om tred te hou met jou vordering, volg enige riglyne wat daargestel is, kry genoeg rus, en kies ‘n oefenplan om in sessie 7 in werking te stel. Indien jy enige probleme ondervind, bespreek dit met my sodat ek die program kan aanpas, waar nodig, om by jou behoeftes te pas.
Die taak wat jy aangepak het is nie maklik nie. Dit gaan baie tyd verg en gaan jou lewe verander, maar jy is die moeite werd. Jy het alles wat benodig word. Glo in jouself en sien die resultate!
Die totale koste vir die program is R 4000, wat die werkboek en vier CD’s insluit. Dis ‘n belegging in jouself en jou gesondheid!
